Product Quote Management System in Development for E-Commerce

In addition to website design and online marketing 3PRIME does web application development. One of the most common ways we start these projects is when a client sees something online that would provide a great fit for their business and requests us to build something to fit that need.

Based on a recent online shopping experience, one of our closest clients has had 3PRIME begin development on a quote management system, and we’re really excited about the prospects for expanding on this project.

When launched, this system will be used by salespeople to use while on the phone with customers. They’ll be able to select products, manage quantities and supply customized shipping prices and discounts according to the needs of the customer. Once the quote is complete, the system generates an email and sends it to the customer with a payment link to go to the website and take advantage of the personalized offer they negotiated with their salesperson.

3PRIME’s process for projects like this is to
1) Develop the concept and project scope over the phone, accounting for our client’s time and budget constraints.
2) Design the core interface pages that the client/user will interact with to perform their work using the new web application
3) Once designs are approved, the application begins to be developed.

So far, our favorite feature is something Cornel developed as a usability feature. To enable salespeople to quickly add products to the quote, he developed a real-time database querying system that functions just like an auto-complete feature. This was a challenge to ensure that the querying didn’t reduce the website’s responsiveness.

Our client was very excited about it and we expect that once this is done, we’ll be converting their current google-based search feature with a similar function, making the website even more user-friendly!
